Using the actor as his stage name inspiration, electronic artist Com Truise was born Seth Haley in Oneida, New York. Obsessed with synthesizing music, he is at the forefront of creating the style that he has dubbed “synth wave” combined with “slow-motion funk”. Though he had been working as a DJ a decade beforehand, Com Truise released his debut EP Cyanide Sisters in 2010, which was made available digitally. A year later, he released his first full-length album Galactic Melt, but not without issuing a few teaser singles to promote the endeavor.
Com Truise also gained some recognition for his remix work, including renditions of Neon Indian’s “Sleep Paralysist” and Daft Punk‘s “Encom, Pt. 2”. In July 2012, the label Ghostly International, which had released the majority of his work, made In Decay available for download only, featuring some of the material that the DJ had never made public. Early in 2014, Com Truise released Wave 1, another EP which makes heavy use of bass and synthesizers.
