Connor McDavid Bio
Connor McDavid is a Canadian professional ice hockey player born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada on January 13, 1997. He is currently a centre and captain of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. He grew up in Toronto and played junior hockey for teams like the Erie Otters and the Ontario Hockey League. In 2015 he was chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He signed a three-year entry level contract with them and made his debut in professional hockey on October 8, 2015 against the St. Louis Blues. In 2016 he was named the captain of the team, making him the youngest captain in NHL history at 19 years old. In 2017 he signed an eight-year extension contract with the Oilers for $100 million. He played for the Canadian national junior team at one World U18 Championship, two World Junior Championships, and one for the senior team at the World Championships, winning gold in each game at every level. Throughout his career he has won a several awards and trophies, including Rookie of the Month, a Art Ross Trophy, a Ted Lindsay Award, a Hart Memorial Trophy and others.
