Cookie Monsta, born Tony Cook in Nottingham, England was a British DJ and music producer. He began producing music in 2000 by messing around on the Playstation videogame called Music 2000/ MTV Music Generator. He experimented on the program for the next few years and went on to study music technology at college. His main musical influences included artists such as Rusko and Flux Pavilion. Cookie Monsta specialized in the genres of grime, electro, and dubstep. He adopted the Cookie Monsta moniker in 2008 and released his first EP called Maryland Chocolate Chip Mix. In 2009 he released a mixtape called Where’s My Cookie? In 2010 Flux Pavilion signed Cookie Monsta to the label Circus Records. In 2012 he released his first EP on the label entitled Riot. He passed away in October 2020.
