Corey Mitchell Hart (born May 31, 1962 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is an actor and composer, most renowned for his roles in Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), 9½ Weeks (1986) and Future Man (2017).
Hart began singing when he was 11. In 1980, he was selected to represent Canada in the World Popular Song Festival held in Tokyo. After dropping demos to various recording labels, he was finally signed by Aquarius Records in 1982.
In 1983, Hart released his first album titled, “First Offense.” The album earned him international success in Canada and America with hit tracks, “Sunglasses at Night” and “It Ain’t Enough” earning No.7 and No.17 spots on the music charts, respectively. The album also earned various nominations including, “Best Album” at the ADISQ Awards and a nomination for “Best New Artist”.
Hart’s second album, “Boy in the Box” was released in 1985 and sold over a million copies in Canada. It was also nominated for the “Best Album” award at the Juno and ADISQ Awards. One of the tracks on the album titled, “Never Surrender” also gained a No. 1 spot on Canadian music charts and won the award for “Best Selling Single” at the Juno Awards. In 1986, Hart released his third album, “Fields of Fire” which earned double platinum status in Canada and gold in America. His fourth album was titled “Young Man Running,” while his fifth album, “Bang!” which earned a platinum status in Canada was released in 1990. In 1992, he released his solo album titled, “Attitude & Virtue.” In 1998, he released his next album, “Jade.”
