Craig Mazin is an American film screenwriter, producer, and actor who is best known for creating and producing the TV mini-series Chernobyl. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, United States, on April 8, 1971. Craig began his career in Hollywood in 1997 when he wrote the screenplay for the film RocketMan. He has since written for numerous films including The Hangover Part II, The Hangover Part III, Identity Thief, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and Scary Movie 3. He stars in the comedy series Mythic Quest alongside Rob McElhenney, F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Charlotte Nicdao, Ashly Burch, and Imani Hakim. For his work as the creator, writer, and producer of the TV mini-series Chernobyl, he has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or a Dramatic Special and a Writers Guild of America Award for Long Form Original.
