Actress, comedian and writer Cristela Alonzo, born January 6th 1979 in San Juan, Texas, briefly studied theater at Webster University, and later started doing stand-up comedy. Alonzo became a writer for Comedy Central show. Cristela toured college comedy shows, and was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing. This led to her scoring a segment in the comedy showcase, Legally Brown. Alonzo created and wrote her own semi-autobiographical comedy show, Cristela. Alonzo also appeared in Sons of Anarchy, Ladies Room Diaries, The Book Club, Hot Pursuit, General Hospital, That’s Harassment, The Laundromat, The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia, and Hey It’s Fluffy! She also dipped her toe into voice acting, voicing characters in The Angry Birds Movie, Cars 3, Miss Fritter’s Racing Skoool, and His Dark Materials.
