Curren$y Bio
Born in 1981, Curren$y (Shante Franklin) is a rap artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Currensy began his career in music as a member of the rap group the 504 Boyz in 2002, and it was not until 2009 that he would release his first solo album “This Ain’t No Mixtape”. A series of solo and collaborative albums with a number of different artist would follow, featuring singles such as 2012’s “Jet Life” and 2015’s “Bottom of the Bottle”. Currensy has also featured as an artist in works by artists such as Talib Kweli and Trae the Truth.
