Cynthia Nixon, born Cynthia Ellen Nixon on April the 9th 1966 in New York City and is an American actress and activist. With a career that began in 1979 at the age of twelve she went on to work in the Broadway show, The Philadelphia Story and as a child actor alternated between stage, and screen frequently.
Best known for portraying Miranda Hobbes in the hit television series Sec and the City, and the subsequent movies alongside actors such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis. With over forty award nominations to her name, her work in A Quiet Passion in 2017 has nominated her for five awards alone and she has won two Emmy Awards so far in her career.
