Dakota Bio

Dakota is a London-based blues-inspired singer who began her career in 2015. with her rendition of Son’s House track ‘John the Revelator’. Also in 2015, Dakota teamed up with Jonas Blue to produce a cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 song ‘Fast Car’ which reached number one on iTunes and became certified platinum in Australia and Sweden. The song is in the top 5 on iTunes charts in 23 countries.  Blue chose her for the song ‘Fast Car’  after hearing her sing in the basement of an East London Pub. After hearing her sing he invited her to the studio the next day to record  ‘Fast Car’. Dakota is signed with 70Hz Recordings and is currently working with Fraser T Smith.
