DāM-FunK Bio

DaM-FunK, born Damon Garrett Riddick on June 15th, 1971 in Pasadena, California is an American musician specializing in modern funk, vocals, and music production. DaM-FunK has been active on the music scene since 1988 but has struggled to go gain notable attention until 2007. In 2007 he remixed Bron Zen’s single “Burn Rubber.” The remix became an international underground favorite. He was then signed to Stones Throw Records in the same year. In 2008 DaM-FunK recorded two singles: “Burgundy City” and “Let’s Take Off (Far Away).”   In 2009 he released five vinyl  LP’s which was edited into CD format called Toeachizown.  DaM-FunK worked on a series of remixes between LP’s with artists such as Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti,  Nite-Funk, RED a.k.a. ‘The Man Without The Machine,’ Lil Scrappy, and Animal Collective. In 2008 he performed 15 shows at the SXSW Festival. In 2001 he released a new EP called InnaFocusedDaze through Scion AV.
