Dana Welles Delany is an American, award-winning actress who is best known for her work on television. She was born in New York City, New York, United States, on March 13, 1956. After studying theater at Wesleyan University, she began acting in the Soap Operas Love of Life and As the World Turns. She appeared in the TV series Sweet Surrender, Wild Palms, Wing Commander Academy, and Pasadena. She became a household name in 1988 when she starred in the TV series China Beach where she starred as the main character alongside Michael Boatman, Marg Helgenberger, Concetta Tomei, and Robert Picardo. Dana’s best-known work in the 2010s is the TV series Body of Proof. She has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Viewers for Quality Television Award for Best Actress in a Quality Drama Series, and a PRISM Award for Best Performance in a Comedy Series.
