Dana Williams is a singer and songwriter born on July 17, 1989, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is an alumnus of Sarah Lawrence College. Her genres of music include folk, jazz, RnB, and soul. She grew up listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Dana performed Hard Knock Life with Jay Z for a TV show in fourth grade.
Dana made her debut with the 2013 EP, The Lonely One. The opening track, Keep Me Waiting, was the only original vocal composition featured in Damien Chazelle's Oscar-winning film Whiplash. She was a contestant on the show Rising Star in 2014. Her sophomore EP, Let's Fall, followed in 2015. Her 2017 single, Honey, was on Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist.
Dana released her third EP, Thank You For The Memories, on October 30, 2020. Freddie Gibbs featured her on several songs, including Diamonds, McDuck, and The Hard. Rejjie Snow featured her alongside Aminé on the single Egyptian Luvr.
