Dance Gavin Dance is an American post-hardcore rock band from Sacramento, California. The band consist of members Johnny Craig, Tilian Pearson and Jon Mess on vocals, Will Swan on lead guitar, Tim Feerick on the bass guitar and Matthew Mingus on the drums. The five man band signed with Rise Records in 2006 debuting their EP, ‘Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean’. Their debut studio album arrived in 2007 titled ‘Downtown Battle Mountain’ which they toured in support of their LP with Alesana, A Day to Remember and Pierce the Veil that same year. Craig made his departure from the band after touring, vocalist Kurt Travis joined Dance Gavin Dance. With a new addition to the band, Dance Gavin Dance released a self titled album in 2008 with producer Kris Crummett followed by another album their 2009 album, ‘Happiness’. Shortly after, vocalist Tilian Pearson joined the band for their fifth album, ‘Acceptance Speech’ which was released in 2013. Dance Gavin Dance’s next album arrived in 2015 titled ‘Instant Gratification’ which landed at number 32 on the Billboard 200 that year. 2016 delivered a live album titled ‘Tree City Sessions’ and their seventh album, ‘Mothership’. ‘Mothership’ produced popular singles for the band such as ‘Betrayed by the Game’ and ‘Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise’ which led to the debut of it’s album on the number 13 spot on the Billboard 200. Their latest album, ‘Artificial Selection’ was released in 2018, giving the band more popularity amongst the experimental rock community.
