D’Angelo Danté Russell was born on February 23, 1996 in Louisville, Kentucky. He plays the point guard point for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). D’Angelo attended High school at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida. He played college basketball for Ohio State from 2014 to 2015. In the 2015 draft, the Los Angeles Lakers picked D’Angelo in the first round as the 2nd overall selection.
D’Angelo Russell has played for multiple NBA teams including the Los Angeles Lakers from 2015 to 2017 and then the Brooklyn Nets. His professional basketball career began in 2015 and he has won numerous awards including NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2016), Consensus first-team All-American (2015), First-team All-Big Ten (2015), Big Ten Freshman of the Year (2015), Jerry West Award (2015), McDonald’s All-American (2014) and Jordan Brand Classic (2014).
