Daniel Humm (born September 21, 1976) is a Swiss chef and owner of the hospitality group behind Eleven Madison Park and Eleven Madison Home. In Switzerland, Humm was exposed to food at a very young age. He began working in kitchens at the age of 14. Moving from there, Humm spent most of his time in some of the finest Swiss hotels and restaurants before earning his first Michelin star at the age of 24.
In 2003, Humm moved to the United States to become the Executive Chef at Campton Place in San Francisco. Three years later, he moved to New York to become the Executive Chef at Eleven Madison Park. Over the course of Humm's tenure, he received numerous accolades, including four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle and The New York Times, three Michelin Stars, seven James Beard Foundation Awards (including Outstanding Chef and Outstanding Restaurant in America), and the number one spot on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2017.
In 2011, Humm co-founded the New York-based hospitality group Eleven Madison Park from Union Square Hospitality Group with his former business partner and Dining Room Manager, Will Guidara. He also co-founded the non-profit group, Rethink Food and published four books. His restaurants are famous for outstanding Swiss delicacies.
