Born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 1, 1985. Daniel Murphy was the 13th round pick of the New York Mets in the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft. He has been in the All-Star Games in 2014, 2016, and 2017. He also received two silver sluggers and became the Player of the Month for May and July 2016. He was also the Player of the Week for Sept. 1, 2013. Murphy became a free agent in November 2015. He had also been the MVP for the NLCS in 2015. He won a gold medal in the World Baseball Classic while representing the US team. Murphy signed with the Washington Nationals in January 2016. He was traded by the Nationals to the Chicago Cubs in August 2018 and in October of the same year, he became a free agent.
