Daniel Jacob Stern is an actor born on August 28, 1957, in Bethesda, Maryland, United States. He discovered his talent and passion for acting during his high school years in Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, where he starred in a few theatre plays. After a while, he decided to drop out of school and pursue his career as an actor. His first job was as a walk-on in the production Taming of the Shrew during a Shakespeare Festival in DC. After his activity during this festival, he started his acting journey in Off-Broadway and Broadway productions. He made his first movie debut in 1979 and starred a character, Cybil, in the movie Breaking Away. He made various successful film appearances. One of them is Diner in 1982, where Daniel had a performance that put him on the map as a comedy actor. Daniel's appearance on the big screen in the first two Home Alone movies, Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, with Joe Pesci and young Macaulay Culkin in leading roles, made him recognizable for the global crowd.
