Danny Devito Bio

Danny Devito is an American actor, director, screenwriter and producer born on November 17, 1944 in Neptune Township, New Jersey as Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. He is of Italian descent for both parents. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he graduated in 1966. Danny landed his first part in a movie when he appeared in the obscure “Dreams of Glass” in 1970, but his first career breakthrough was in the 1975 film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” starring Jack Nicholson. His big opportunity came in 1978 when he took a role on an ABC sitcom pilot called “Taxi”, which was a great success, running from 1978 to 1983. In 1992 Danny took the role of The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot in Tim Burton‘s highly successful “Batman Returns”, getting a nomination for Best Villain at the MTV Movie Awards. In 2006, he returned to series television in the FX comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. He has a long career where he has worked with many of the most talented actors, directors and producers.
