Danzig is an American heavy metal band from New Jersey that formed in 1987. The band was formed by singer-songwriter of The Misfits and Samhain, Glenn Danzig. The band members include Glenn Danzig on vocals, Eerie Von on the bass, John Christ on guitar and Chuck Biscuits on the drums. In 1988, the band released their debut album, ‘Danzig’, through Def American/American Recordings. The self titled album received a gold certification in 1994 in the U.S. and eventually became platinum. After the 1988 release, Danzig went on tour until 1989 with bands such as Metallica, Slayer as well as their own headline tour. In 1990, their second album arrived titled ‘Danzig II: Lucifuge’ with a follow up album, ‘Danzig III: How the Gods Kill’, arrived in 1992 and along with an EP project titled ‘Thrall: Demonsweative’. ‘Danzig 4’ arrived in 1994 and shortly after, Danzig replaced Chuck Biscuits with Joey Castillo on drums. ‘Danzig 5: Blackacidevil’ was released in 1996 followed by ‘6:66 Satan’s Child’ in 1999. By 2000, Howie Pyro arrived replacing Eerie Von on bass and released album ‘Danzig 777: I Luciferi’ in 2002 followed by ‘Circle of Snakes’ in 2004. Their 2006 album, ‘Black Aria II’ was released and a double CD with twenty six unreleased songs titled ‘The Lost Tracks of Danzig’ was released in 2007. The band released four more albums; ‘Deth Red Sabaoth’ in 2010, ‘Skeleton’ in 2015 and ‘Black Laden Crown’ in 2017. Danzig has announced that a Elvis Presley cover album titled ‘Danzig Sings Elvis’ will be released this 2020.
