R&B singer Dave Hollister was born on August 17, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois. He gained famed by being a member of the group Blackstreet. He left the group shortly after they released their debut album to pursue a solo career in 1994.
His debut solo album, “Ghetto Hymns,” was released in 1999 and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200 and number five on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.. He followed up with “Chicago 85…..The Movie” in 2000, which peaked at number ten on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Both of these albums were released with Dreamworks. He left Dreamworks and signed with Motown Records and released one album under them, “Things in the Game Done Changed, “ in 2002. It peaked at number three on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number ten on the Billboard Top 200. In 2003, “Real Talk” was released with “The Book of David Vol. 1: The Transition” following in 2006 on GospoCentric. “The Book of David…” topped the Billboard Gospel Albums chart in February 2013. “Witness Protection” was released in 2008 and peaked at number two on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, and in 2013, he released “United Tenors” with Eric Hammond, Eric Roberson, and Brian Courtney Wilson. In 2014, “Chicago Winds…The Saga Continues” was released.
