Daveed Daniele Diggs is an American actor, musical artist, writer, and producer who is best known for his work on the Broadway production of Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He was born in Oakland, California, United States, on January 24, 1982. Daveed began his acting career in experimental theatre, and in 2012 he was cast in the award-winning Broadway production of Hamilton which he starred in alongside Leslie Odom Jr., Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, and Philipa Soo. Daveed is a member of the Los Angeles-based hip hop group Clipping that consists of Daveed, William Hutson, and Jonathan Snipes. He has appeared on the TV series Central Park, Snowpiercer, Black-ish, The Get Down, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the films Wonder, Ferdinand, and Blindspotting. He has won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical.
