David Baddiel Bio

David Baddiel is an English actor, comedian, and writer born in New York City, New York on May 28, 1964. He is best known for his role on the sketch comedy show The Mary Whitehouse Experience. After graduating from university he became a stand up comedian in London and would write for other performers. His debut in television was on the show Filthy, Rich and Catflap in 1988. Throughout his career in writing and acting he has created or helped create several shows, including The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Newman and Baddiel in Pieces, Fantasy Football League, Baddiel’s Syndrome, The Infidel, Hersey, and others. He published his first novel in 1996 titled Time for Bed, and has written three more titled, Whatever Love Means, The Secret Purposed, and The Death of Eli God. In 2015 he published his first children’s novel titled The Parent Agency that is being turned into a feature film. He continued to write several more children’s novels titled, The Person Controller, Birthday Boy, AniMalcolm, and Head Kid. Several of his books were incredibly successful, winning him a LOLLIE Award. He returned to comedy in 2013 and released the shows FAME: Not the Musical and My Family: Not The Sitcom that earned him a nominating for an Oliver Award.
