David Cross is an American comedian, actor, writer and director. From the age of 17, Cross has been doing stand up comedy. After performing in both Los Angeles and New York for years, he landed a comedy special, The Pride is Back on HBO. With a television career that began as a writer for The Ben Stiller Show he is best known for playing Tobias Funke in the hit show Arrested Development, where worked alongside Jason Bateman and Michael Cera in the sitcom.
As a voice actor he worked on the Kung Fu Panda movies as Crane , as well as Minion in Megamind. His most recent venture was working alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in the 2017 hit film The Post. He is most instantly recognisable for playing the villain Ian Hawke in the Alvin and The Chipmunks film franchise.
