David Fincher is an American film director and producer, television director and producer, and music video director born in Denver, Colorado on August 28, 1962. He made his directorial debut in 1992 with the film Alien 3. He is best known for directing the films The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, Seven, The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room, Zodiac, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl. He was also part of creating the shows House of Cards and Mindhunter. In 1983 he co-founded the video-production company Propaganda Films and started directing music videos and commercials. As a music video director he has won two Grammy Awards for his work on “Love Is Strong” by The Rolling Stones and “Suit & Tie” by Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. He also won three MTV Video Music Awards for Best Direction. For his work in film and television he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a Directors Guild of America Award, a BAFTA Award and more.
