David Lee Murphy was born in Herrin, Illinois on January 7, 1959. Murphy released his debut album Out With a Bang in 1995. The album contained the track “Dust on the Bottle” which made it to number one. He is also known for the country radio staple “Party Crowd.”
In 2004, another song “Loco” made it to No. 5 of the charts. He wrote Thompson Square‘s Grammy-nominated song “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” Blake Shelton‘s “The More I Drink,” and Jake Owen‘s “Anywhere With You.”
In 2018, the song “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” featuring Kenny Chesney from his No Zip Code album stayed on top of the charts for 32 weeks. The album also includes the songs “That’s Alright,” “Get Go,” and “Haywire.”
