David Letterman, born David Michael Letterman was born on April 12th 1947 in Indiana and is an American host, comedian, producer and writer. Best known for hosting Late Night with David Letterman for 33 years from 1982 to 2015 for NBC and CBS. Letterman has since become the longest serving late night show host in American television history, surpassing Johnny Carson.
With a career that began in the 1970’s as a radio talk show host and later television anchor and weatherman, moving to Los Angeles with the hopes of becoming a comedy writer, he is said to have influenced those such as Ray Romano, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay leno and Seth Meyers to name a few. He currently hosts the Netflix produced television show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.
