David Luiz Bio

David Luiz (born April 22, 1987) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Flamengo. He is primarily a center-back but has also been deployed as a defensive midfielder. He started his career at Vitória, where he helped the club to win promotion to the second division in 2006. He then moved to Benfica in Portugal, where he won three league titles, three cups and one league cup.

In January 2011, he joined Chelsea in England. He won the UEFA Champions League in his first season, scoring a penalty in the shootout against Bayern Munich. He also won the UEFA Europa League in 2013. He was part of the Chelsea team that won the Premier League title in 2017 and the FA Cup in 2018. In June 2014, he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain in France.

In August 2016, he returned to Chelsea. He won another Premier League title and another Europa League title with the London club. In August 2019, he moved to Arsenal, Chelsea's local rivals. He played for two seasons with the Gunners, winning the FA Cup in 2020 and the Community Shield in 2021. He also reached the final of the Europa League in 2021.
