David Morrissey (born on June 21, 1964 in Kensington, Liverpool, England) is an English actor, most renowned for his roles in movies and TV series, such as ‘Sense and Sensibility’, ‘Walking Dead’ and ‘State of Play’.
Morrissey began acting when he was a kid. Through high school, he performed in school plays. Right after high school, David Morrissey joined a theater company to hone his skills and explore new opportunities. His professional acting career began in the 1980s when he played roles in classical plays, such as ‘Twelfth Night’ and ‘Peer Gynt’.
He made his screen debut in the 1983 TV series ‘One Summer’. However, he did not gain much recognition until the 1990s when he acted in critically acclaimed films like ‘Hilary and Jackie’ and the series, such as ‘Our Mutual Friend’. His successful spell opened him up to some more prominent roles like, ‘Some Voices’ and ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’.
David Morrissey gained so much appreciation and recognition that he was hailed by many critics as one of the most versatile British actors of his generation. Besides acting, Morrissey has also written, directed and produced a few short films and television films.
