David Morse was born on October 11, 1953, in Beverly Massachusetts. His 30-year career has made him a very recognizable figure in Hollywood. His most well-known film roles include playing Ted Arroway in Contact (1997), “Brutal” Howell in The Green Mile (1999), and Peter Bowman in Proof of Life (2000).
Morse’s career includes national recognition for his roles on and off Broadway. In 1997, he received an Obie Award and Drama Desk Award for his portrayal of Gregory Peck in the off-Broadway production of How I Learned to Drive. He played James “Sharky” Harkin in the Broadway production of The Seafarer in 2007-2008.
Morse has also been a big figure in television. His big break came in 1982, when he played Dr. Jack “Boomer” Morrison on medical drama St. Elsewhere. He has received Emmy nominations for his role on the television drama House, and miniseries John Adams. He is currently starring as Big Foster Farrell in Outsiders, a series on WGN America.
