Dax McCarty is an American soccer player, born on April 30, 1987, in Winter Park, Florida. He is known for playing for five teams across his career. He played college soccer for the University of North Carolina and was named to the All-ACC first team in 2005. He joined the United States national team in 2009. He won his first MLS Western Conference Championship with FC Dallas in 2010 under head coach Schellas Hyndman and joined the New York Red Bulls in 2011, playing alongside stars like Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill. In 2017, Dax was traded to the Chicago Fire, and in 2019, he was traded to Nashville SC of Major League Soccer. He played with the U-15, U-16, U-18, and the U-23 U.S. Men’s National Team. He was also a captain of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s match against Chile under coach Bob Bradley in 2011.
