Dean Winters Bio

Dean Winters is an American actor. He was born Dean Gerard Winter on the 20th of July, 1964 in New York City, New York, U.S. In 1997, he landed his first major role as Ryan O’Reily on HBO’s series “Oz”, soon followed by his role in “Beeper King”, as well as in the Emmy-winning comedy, “30 Rock”. He joined the cast of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” portraying Detective Brian Cassidy. He appeared in “CSI:Miami”, “Sex and the City”, “The Twilight Zone”, and more than a dozen television shows. Winters acted regularly alongside Denis Leary and Diane Farr on the acclaimed drama series “Rescue Me”, in which he portrayed Johnny Gavin, an NYPD police investigator. He acted as Lena Headey‘s past love interest on the Fox series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” in 2008. He also played on several movies such as “Conspiracy Theory” starring Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson in 1997, “Hellseeker”, and “Bristol Boys” in 2006.
