Dearica Hamby Bio

American basketball player Dearica Hamby was born on 6th November 1993. She started her career with high school basketball, playing for Marietta High School and Norcross High School in Georgia. She also had an illustrious college career, averaging 20.3 points in her senior year at Hamby. She also had the highest scoring average in the Women’s Atlantic Coast Conference. In 2014, she became the first Demon Deacon player to lead the ACC in two categories. She finished her college career with 1081 points and 1021 rebounds, both all-time high scores for Wake Forest. She was drafted 6th Overall by San Antonio Stars, which went on to become the Las Vegas Aces. She tied the WNBA record for the highest double-doubles. In 2019, she became the sixth WNBA Woman of the Year with a unanimous vote. She bagged the title for the second time in a consecutive year. In 2022, she led the Aces to a WNBA victory.
