Deer Tick Bio

Deer Tick is an American alternative rock band formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 2004. The current members of the band are John McCauley on lead vocals and guitar, Ian O’Neil on guitar and backing vocals, Christopher Ryan on bass guitar, upright bass, and backing vocals, and Dennis Ryan on drums and backing vocals. Deer Tick formed in 2004 as a duo that was called My Other Face. The members were John McCauley and Paul Marandola. In 2005 Marandola left the duo and McCauley stopped using the name My Other Face. In 2007 McCauley wanted to make Deer Tick an actual band and recruited Dennis Ryan and Chris Ryan to be part of the band. In 2007 they released their debut studio album titled War Elephant. In 2008 they were signed to the label Partisan Records and re released their debut album with the label. They have since released all eight of their studio albums with the label, including Born on Flag Day, The Black Dirt Sessions, Divine Providence, Negativity, Deer Tick, Vol. 1, Deer Tick, Vol. 2, and Mayonnaise. They have also released six EPs.
