Del Amitri is an alternative rock band formed in 1982 and based in Glasgow, Scotland. The band originated from an earlier band that consisted of Justin Currie, James Scobbie, Donald Bentley, and Paul Tyagi. In 1982, Scobbie and Bentley left the band and were replaced by Iain Harvie and Bryan Tolland, forming the beginning of Del Amitri. They recorded their first single, Sense of Sickness, in 1983, which gained them a small following. After touring and performing for several years, the band signed to the record label Chrysalis Records and released their debut self-titled album in 1985. Since 1997, the band has consisted of original members, Currie and Scobbie, and Andy Alston, Kris Dollimore, and Ash Soan. The group toured extensively around the world and released five more albums before disbanding in 2002. The members of Del Amitri would reunite in 2013 and 2018 for a reunion tour. In 2021, Del Amitri announced that they were signed to Sony Music Publishing U.K., and released their seventh album, Fatal Mistakes.
