Del the Funky Homosapien Bio

Teren Delvon Jones, better known by his stage name Del tha Funky Homosapien, is a rapper born on August 12, 1972, in Oakland, California. The cousin of Ice Cube, he began his career as part of Ice Cube’s back up band, Da Lench Mob. He began his solo career in 1991, when he signed with Elektra and released his solo album, I Wish My Brother George Was Here. In 1998, Del released his first album under a different label, Hieroglyphics Records, titled Future Development. Del expanded his musical undertaking by collaborating on a project with Dan the Automater and Kid Koala. Dubbed Deltron 3030, the group created a self-titled concept album set in the year 3030 where Del plays the role of Deltron Zero. The group released their second album, Event 2, in 2013. Del was featured in Gorillaz’s debut album, appearing in the songs Clint Eastwood and Rock the House. His songs have been featured in many popular video games like Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, NBA 2K5, and Street Fighter V.
