Delroy Lindo is a British-American actor and theater director born in Lewisham, England on November 18, 1952. He is best known for his roles in the films Malcolm X, Crooklyn, and Clockers. His debut in film was in 1976 in the British movie Find the Lady. He has also had roles in films like The Hard Way, Malcolm X, Blood in Blood Out, Get Shorty, Ransom, The Cider House Rules, Domino, Point Break, and more. Lindo took a ten year break in acting in films to pursue acting in theater. He has been in productions of “Master Harold” …and the Boys, A Raisin in the Sun, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, The Heliotrope Bouquet, Things of Dry Hours, and The Exonerated. In 1987 he made his debut on television in the series Beauty and the Beast and continued landing roles in shows like Against the Law, Kidnapped, The Chicago Code, Believe, Blood & Oil, The Good Fight, among others. Throughout his career in acting he has been nominated for several awards like a Tony Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and more. He has won a Satellite Award and an Image Award.
