DeMar Darnell DeRozan was born on August 7, 1989, in Compton, California. During college, he played for the University of Southern California and then was selected by the Toronto Raptors in 2009 NBA draft as the ninth overall selection. DeRozan played in the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics as part of the United States Men’s National Basketball Team.
DeMar DeRozan has won several awards throughout his career. He won the NBA All-Star award three times (2014, 2016, and 2017). He also won the PAC-10 Tournament MVP and the PAC-10 All-freshman Team both in 2009. Additionally, he won the McDonald’s Alll-American (2008), First-Team Parade All-American (2008), and the All-NBA Third Team Award (2017).
