DeMarcus Cousins was born on August 13, 1991 in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended LeFlore High School, where he led them to the Alabama state championship. In 2009, he played in McDonald’s All American Boy Game and was named Parade All-American. While entering college, DeMarcus was the No. 1 forward by Rivals.com and the second-best recruit in the country. DeMarcus attended the University of Kentucky in 2009. After a brief year at the University of Kentucky, DeMarcus entered the 2010 NBA draft. DeMarcus was selected in the first round of the Sacramento Kings. In 2010, he was selected to the 2010-2011 T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie First Team. DeMarcus has set multiple Sacramento King records, including the rookie record for total rebounds in a season. He also set the team record for most consecutive double-doubles.
