Dena Amy Kaplan, better known as Dena Amy, is a DJ, singer, producer, dancer, and actress born on January 20, 1989, in Johannesburg, South Africa. She moved to Australia at a young age and attended Australian Ballet School, Jane Moore Academy of Ballet, and City Dance Centre. Dena first became known when she starred in the television series Dance Academy from 2010 to 2012. She has also toured as a dancer/singer on the stage production of The Lion King. After starring in several successful television series like Soul Mates and Camp, Dena began pursuing a career in music. In 2016, she debuted at Coachella and supported RÜFÜS DU SOL and Hayden James on their tours. As a DJ, Dena has performed at events like Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Field Day, and FOMO. She has performed with artists like The Black Madonna, Bob Moses, and Rampue.
