Denis Shapovalov Bio
Denis Viktorovich Shapovalov is a professional tennis player born in Tel Aviv, Israel, on April 15, 1999. He started playing tennis at age five, going pro in 2017. He won the 2013 ITF G5 tournament, the 2015 US Open doubles tournament, and the 2016 Wimbledon junior singles title. Tessa Shapovalova and Peter Polansky coach him.
In 2017, Denis won the ATP Star of Tomorrow, ATP Most Improved Player, Tennis Canada Male Player of the Year, and the Lionel Conacher Award. His highest ranking, number ten, was on September 21, 2020. He became the first Canadian US Open men's singles quarter-finalist in 2020. He is associated with IMG, Nike, Yonex, BioSteel Sports Nutrition, and TAG Heuer.
Denis launched ShapoShelter in April 2022. He supports the Humane Society of Manatee County and Adopta un Amigo Para Siempre in Mexico City. Denis is a Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Toronto Raptors (NBA) fan. He has released several songs as Shapo, including the Midnight Life EP.
