Dennis Haysbert is an American film and television actor. He was born Dennis Dexter Haysbert on the 2nd of June, 1954 in San Mateo, California. He began his acting career around 1978, starting with television guest roles in shows like “Lou Grant”, “Laverne & Shirley”, “The A-Team” and many others. In 2001, Haysbert got his first big breakthrough with his role as a U.S. Senator David Palmer in the drama television series “24”. Haysbert was later nominated for a Golden Globe and for a Golden Satellite Award for this role, a year later. He has also appeared in over 15 movies including “Think Like a Man”, “Sniper: Legacy” and “The Dark Tower” alongside Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Haysbert has also voiced several characters in video games like “24: The Game” and “Call of Duty: Finest Hour”.
