Dennis Lehane is a writer born on 4th August 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. He published his first novel, “A Drink Before the War” in 1994. The book introduced two private investigators, Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro, who recur in Lehane’s books. In 2003, his novel “Mystic River” was adapted as a movie starring Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, and Sean Penn. The novel made it to the finals of the PEN/Winship Award and won the Barry Award and Anthony Award.
In 2010, he published the book “Moonlight Mile,” followed by “World Gone By” in 2015. Lehane has also had a career in film. In the mid-1990s, he wrote and directed the film “Neighborhoods.” In 2004, he co-wrote the crime-drama television series “The Wire.” It was also announced in November 2012 that he would be joining the writing staff of the American crime drama television series “Boardwalk Empire.” He was contracted in 2013 to write the screenplay “Silk Road.”
