Born on November 25, 1997, in North Carolina, United States, Dennis Cliff Smith Jr. is an American professional National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball player for the New York Knicks. Before that, Dennis was picked up 9th-overall and played two seasons for Dallas Mavericks. His first significant achievement was being crowned the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year in North Carolina in 2015. From then on there was no looking back. After playing for NC State University for two years and earning the title of ACC Rookie of the Year, His brilliant sportsmanship and exemplary ethics got him his rookie contract with Dallas Mavericks. Now representing the New York Knicks, Dennis accumulated several awards and honors during his career including ACC All-Freshman team (2017), Second-team All-ACC (2017) and NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2018).
