Derek Carr is an American professional football player born in Bakersfield, California on March 28, 1991. He is currently a quarterback for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. He played football in high school at Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas and Bakersfield Christian High School in Bakersfield, California. He went on to play college football at Fresno State for the Bulldogs from 2009 to 2013. In 2013 he received the 2013 CFPA Elite QB Award. In 2014 he was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round, 36th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract for $5.37 million with a $2.2 million signing bonus. In 2017 he signed a five-year extension contract with the Raider for $125 million with $40 million fully guaranteed and a signing bonus of $12.5 million. Carr has played in 3 pro bowls in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 2,800 pass attempts, 1,759 pass completions, and 18,739 passing yards.
