Derek Mears is an actor and stunt actor who was born on April 29, 1972, in Bakersfield, California, United States of America. After he finished high school at the beginning of the 90s, he wanted to start an acting career so he created his own stand-up comedy in Comedy Sportz in Bakersfield. He debuted as an actor in 1995 when he participated in the film “The Demolitionist”. He then appeared on multiple series and movies, including “Malcolm & Eddie”, “ER”, “Men in Black II”, “Acceptable TV”, “CSI: Miami” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”. Among his most famous projects we can find “Friday the 13th” where he played the famous horror character Jason Voorhees for which interpretation he was nominated for best villain in the MTV Movie + TV Awards; “Predator” in 2010, starring Alex Litvak, Michael Finch, and Jim Thomas; the tv series “Sleepy Hollow” between 2013 and 2017 and the show “Swap Thing” in 2019.
