DESIIGNER Bio
Desiigner, born Sidney Royel Selby III is a New York rapper currently signed to G.O.O.D. Music. With only two songs to his name at the time, he was discovered by Kanye West, who first heard his song “Panda” in 2015. Kanye immediately flew Desiigner out to LA, and played him the track “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2,” which featured interpolations of “Panda.” The song scored a prominent spot at the beginning of his 2016 album The Life Of Pablo, causing the already successful “Panda” to reach a far broader audience. The success resulted in Desiigner’s inclusion in the XXL Freshman Class of 2016, a prestigious list meant to highlight the most promising up-and-coming rappers in current hip hop. His debut mixtape, New English, was released in summer of 2016.
