Dessa, born Margaret Wander on May the 23rd 1981 in Minnesota is an American rapper, singer, spoken word artist, record executive and writer. A member of the indie hip hop collective known as Doomtree, her first solo project False Hopes was listed as one of the top local albums in Minneapolis.
With her first solo album dropping in 2010, A Badly Broken Code contained the tracks Dixon’s Girl and The Chaconne. And then went on to release the second album parts of Speech, with hits such as Warsaw and Call Of Your Ghost. She is known for her unique sound and for her work with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mel Gipson, Paper Tiger and Gayngs to name a few, as a writer she has written five books so far.
