Baseball outfielder, William Dexter Fowler was born on 22nd March 1986 in Atlanta, Georgia. He played for Milton High School in his amateur career where he hit .457 with 14 home runs in 105 at-bats. This earned him offers from the University of Miami and Harvard which he rejected to play major league baseball. In 2004, he was drafted by the Colorado Rookies in the 14th round of the MLB Draft. He was selected to play at the Yankees stadium in the All-Star Futures Game. His Major Leagues debut came in September 2008 with a home win over San Francisco Giants. He plays as a free agent and has played for teams like the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, St.Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Angels. In October 2016, Fowler, Jason Heywardm, Addison Russell and Carl Edwards Jr. became the first African-Americans to play in a World Series game for the Cubs. He went on to become the first African-American to start for the cubs and the first player in history to lead off with a home run in a World Series Game.
