Diane Guerrero Bio

Diane Guerrero is an actress and author born on July 21, 1986, in Passaic, New Jersey. Guerrero first became known when she starred in the Netflix show, Orange Is the New Black. She is also known for playing Lina, the best friend of Gina Rodriguez’s titular character in the show Jane the Virgin, from 2014 to 2019. In 2017, she starred in the second season of Superior Donuts. In 2019, DC announced that Guerrero will play the character of Crazy Jane in the television adaptation of Doom Patrol. As a character with alternate personalities, the role requires Guerrero to essentially play multiple characters. The role earned Guerrero nominations for Best Actress in Television at the Imagen Awards and Best Actress in a Superhero Series at the Critics Choice Super Awards. Guerrero has lent her voice to the series Elena of Avalor and Justice League vs The Fatal Five. In 2021, she can be heard in Disney’s Encanto alongside Stephanie Beatriz and Rhenzy Feliz. In 2016, Guerrero published her book In the Country We Love, which details her experience with the deportation of her parents when she was 14.
