Diego Luna Bio

Diego Luna was born on December 29, 1979 in Mexico City, Mexico. He got his start on the telenovela El premio mayor in 1995, but rose to prominence after his role in the movie Y tu mama también. In 2008, he appeared in the movie Milk. He also produced several television documentaries about murdered women in Ciudad Juárez. In 2011, he appeared in a music video for Katy Perry. Luna directed the film Cesar Chávez in 2012 and starred in Casa de Mi Padre the same year. In 2015, he joined the cast of the film The Bad Batch. Luna became a member of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival jury for Un Certain Regard in 2016. Luna’s documentary work has focused on unsolved crimes and the difficulties refugee children face.
